The Ports Association of Louisiana will have their 36th annual conference on April 09 – 10, 2019, at Evangeline Downs Racino in Opelousas, LA. This event is being hosted by the Port of Krotz Springs.
The event will kickoff on the Tuesday with a golf tournament at 11am at “The Farm d’Allie” in Carencro, LA. That night will be a reception at Mojo’s with music by Geno Delafose & French Rockin’ Boogie and will be attended by Lt. Governor Billy Nungessor. “The Zydeco Ballers” dancers will do a presentation and Zydeco dance instructions.
On Wednesday, the day begins at 9 am with guest speakers that include Louisiana DOTD Secretary Dr. Shawn Wilson, Louisiana Commissioner of Agriculture Mike Strain, and Mr. Bill Thomassie with Infinity Engineering. The guest speaker at lunch will be New York Best Selling Author of “The Most Dangerous Animal of All”, Mr. Gary Stewart.
There will also be a Spouse’s Tour provided that will take them to downtown Eunice, LA where they will tour KBON 101.1 Radio Station, City Hall, and the Jean Lafitte National Park Service Museum where Chef Paul J. DiCapo, a Commissioner at the Port of Krotz Springs, will be doing a cooking demonstration. They will stroll Second Street where area merchants will provide beverages and refreshments.
On Wednesday night, it will be “Derby Night with PAL”. A reception will be held in the Racino Clubhouse to watch exciting horse racing and also includes a hat competition for men and women.
