Born and raised in Krotz Springs, Monita Reed, is a graduate of Melville High School’s class of 1973. She earned a degree is Business Administration and Data Processing from TH Harris Vocational Tech. In 2017, after serving over 20 years as the HR Manager for the Louisiana Department of Education, Ms.Reed retired. Her working career also included Office Manager/Secretary-Treasurer for the Louis G. Ortis Boat Company and Chief Civil & Tax Collector for the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Department. Now she can devote herself fully to her volunteer commitments as Chairman of St. Anthony Catholic Church’s Cemetery Committee and a Board Member of Krotz Springs Sportsmen’s Heritage Festival.
