Mr. Batiste, a local businessman and Louisiana notary public, is a Southern University graduate and US Navy Veteran. Batiste spent his career working in the refinery industry as an Operations Supervisor for Chevron Corporation in which he retired after 44 years of service.
He has served as a Commissioner at the Port of Krotz Springs since February 14, 2013. He has held the office of Vice President since 2015.
His affiliations are : Louisiana Notary Public, J.S. Clark High School Alumni Association, Southern University Alumni Association (St. Landry Parish Chapter). He is a Director at Shiloh Baptist Church and also serves as a Deacon.
He and his wife, Judge Vanessa Harris, have a blended family of eleven children and eighteen grandchildren.
